Homework and spelling words for Friday October 17.

For homework this week, students are asked to write a short retell about how Thanksgiving is celebrated by their family. If you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, students should write an account of what they know about Thanksgiving as we have learned about this celebration in school this week.

Students must use words that indicate the start (au début), the middle (au milieu), and the end (à la fin) of their retell. They must also use adjectives.

Some useful vocabulary:

  • La dinde
  • les courses
  • les légumes
  • le gâteau
  • le dîner
  • fêter
  • l'Action de Grâce
  • célébrer
  • la famille
  • la maison
Spelling words for next week are:
  • le lait
  • la paix
  • faire
  • j'ai
  • la maison
  • une araignée
  • j'étais
  • épais
  • j'avais
  • une saison
Students should practise the spelling words daily to ensure success.

It is GREATLY appreciated if students return their homework, levelled reading book AND the Ziplock bag by Thursday of each week as this gives me time to mark, assess, and reorganize their materials for the following week. Thanks!

Wishing all who celebrate Thanksgiving a wonderful and joyous weekend.
