The final post for the 2014/15 academic year.

I wanted to let you all know what a truly wonderful class I've had this year. Your children are all a delight to teach. They are intelligent, creative, funny, crazy, unexpected, and most of all like a family in the way that they have all supported and cared for each other. I will sincerely miss every single one of them and I wish them absolutely all a wonderful and fun filled summer vacation.
All my very best wishes for their Grade 3 year!

End of year party!!

This Wednesday we're having our end of year party! Please send in treats and snacks and drinks (with glasses please)... just make sure that they are nut free and preferably dairy free also.
Looking forward to it immensely - it's been a terrific year with a truly exceptional class!

INSIDE OUT
Movie Trip on Friday June 19th!

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Our much-anticipated trip to the movies to go see “Inside Out” is rapidly approaching!
In preparation for the big day, I wanted to go over a few things with you. Firstly, the concession stands will be OPEN and your child will be allowed to purchase anything they would like. If you would like to have your child buy food from the theatre, please ensure that they decide ahead of time what they want to buy, and please make sure that you send them with enough money. Line ups will be long as there are 6 classes going, so please take the time this week to make sure that they are well-prepared.
Secondly, please go over behaviour expectations with your child. As summer is right around the corner, students are incredibly excited. However, for safety reasons, and to ensure that we represent ourselves and our school well, it is important for all students to make good behaviour choices both on our way to the theatre, and in the theatre itself.
Finally, please check the weather on the morning of our trip as the weather these days has been unpredictable, and we are walking to the theater, rain or shine!
Thank you for your help and cooperation in this matter. We are looking forward to a great trip!

Trip to the movies.

The children are all getting very excited for their trip to the movies. Thank you to all who have volunteered to come along. Sadly, I can only take one or two of you and I will communicate who the lucky winners are via agendas!

Regarding concessions like popcorn and candy - the students are welcome to bring money with them to purchase snacks. HOWEVER, please remember that concessions are generally very expensive. In order not to sorely disappoint your child on the day, I recommend that you check the price of the snacks your child would like to order to ensure that you send enough funds.

If you would like your child to bring a snack from home, that's ok except that s/he will have to hide it from theatre staff until the lights go out or it will be confiscated by them! Be warned!

Spelling words and homework for Thursday, June 11.

Next week's spelling words are going to be a repeat of the verbs Être and Avoir in the imperfect tense. Students are still struggling with them so a little review wouldn't be a bad idea.

Être
J'étais
tu étais
il était
elle était
on était
nous étions
vous étiez
ils étaient
elles étaient

Avoir
J'avais
tu avais
il avait
elle avait
on avait
nous avions
vous aviez
ils avaient
elles avaient

Homework: Read a fairy tale (it can be the same one as previous homework required) and write what might happen after the end. Use your imagination!
